Philippe Spinosi, baroque guitar, theorbo, conductor

Philippe Spinosi is part of a family of six children all musicians. At the age of 6, he entered his city's conservatory, where he learned the transverse flute for three years, under the influence of his music-loving parents, and particularly his mother. A musician at heart, she was rocked in her childhood by the many singers and mandolinists of the family, in her village in the south of Corsica. This maternal transmission deeply marked Philippe and defined his approach to music, associating the requirement of style and score, with the sensitivity of the heart.     He started playing the guitar at the age of 11, impressed by the discovery of a record by his guitarist uncle, René Bartoli in a duet with Jean Pierre Rampal. He then followed complete musical studies at the conservatory in the class of Raymond Gratien. He then perfected himself with great artists such as Roberto Aussel and the incredible Brazilian guitarist Sergio Assad, who marked him a lot.  He then founded the Duo Spinosi with guitarist Josiane Rabemananjara.  Their duo performed for more than ten years around the world.     He discovers old instruments in 1999, and since then plays the romantic and baroque guitar and thus becomes a continuist of the Matheus ensemble directed by his brother Jean Christophe.     He is the laureate of several international guitar and chamber music competitions (in guitar duet), in France, Germany and in the United States, and of the Yehudi MENUHIN Foundation. guitar and strings by Antoine de Lhoyer (18th century), a world premiere with the Matheus ensemble. In 2008, he founded with Anne Garance Fabre Dit Garrus the Una Stella ensemble whose home port is Marseille.
