Opera,
from Venice to Madrid
Antonio Vivaldi, José Nebra
José Nebra the Spanish was a contemporary of Vivaldi the Venetian. Both have composed operas and sacred music, one is world famous and the other is rarely performed.
They come together in this program of tunes for soprano and strings. We savor their surprising resemblance as much as their inevitable differences.
Una Stella
sacred music
Spanish and Italian Cantatas
As for secular music, the sacred Spanish repertoire is abundant but still remains little represented on stage.
The Una Stella ensemble presents works by Sébastian DURON, Giaccomo FACCO. José NEBRA for Spain, and VIVALDI and PERGOLESE for Italy. The musical mirrors between the two countries will be numerous and surprising.
